GILGIT, Dec 26: Five members of a family were gunned down on the outskirts of the town on Friday.

Superintendent of Police Ali Sher told Dawn a van carrying agriculture department official Abdul Wahid and members of his family came under fire near Naikoi area.

Four people, including a woman and a child, were killed on the spot and two others were injured. One of the injured died in the DHQ hospital.
