Qadri vows to replace education system

LAHORE, May 5: The Pakistan Awami Tehrik will replace the present education system which it says is producing a generation devoid of any independent thinking, says party chairman Tahirul Qadri.

Speaking at a seminar on ‘Democratic role of students in Pakistan’s development’ organized by the girl students’ wing of the PAT here on Sunday, he urged the students to concentrate their energies on learning instead of joining active politics.

He said the PAT, after coming into power, would start a micro project under which 75 small industries would be set up in the first week, while new business parks and a new scientific world order would be established to revive the economy.

Rejecting extremism in the name of religion, he said his party was not in favour of a Taliban-like society rather it wanted to establish a balanced civilization ruled by a democratic culture.
