GUJRAT, June 5: Deposed chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry says the independence of judiciary cannot be compromised.

“Free judiciary is a must for a strong democratic system,” he said in his telephonic address to the Gujrat Bar Association.

He said the restoration of independent judiciary was the unanimous demand of the nation and the days of the rule of law were not far away.—Correspondent
