MARDAN: Four killed in Mardan ambush

MARDAN, May 28: Four persons including an influential of Toru, his bodyguard and driver were gunned down in an ambush at Naway Killey here on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Noor Zaman Khan of Toru, his guard Imtiaz, his driver Jamshed Khan and a retired teacher Taj Mohammad. The armed men intercepted their car and opened fire on them at Naway Killey when they were on their way back home.

The bodies of the victims were also burned badly when the CNG tank of the car caught fire after a bullet hit. The assailants fled after the incident.

Jehanzeb Khan, brother of the victim, lodged an FIR at police checkpoint at District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital Mardan against former provincial minister for forest and wildlife, PPP-P divisional president Abdul Samad Khan Toru, his son and former nazim union council Toru Abdul Wahid Khan, his brother Anwar Khan and his sons Amir Khan and Jehangir Khan.

The motive behind the killings was stated to be family feud as some three years ago Ashfaq Khan, son of Abdul Samad Khan, was allegedly killed. Samad Khan named Noor Zaman Khan and his relatives in the FIR.

Meanwhile, some outlaws detonated a locally made bomb planted outside two CD shops at Chato Chowk, late Tuesday night.
