Five get life term in suicide attack case

QUETTA, May 15: An anti-terrorism court on Thursday jailed five accused for life for their involvement in a suicide attack on an Ashura procession.

At least 44 people were killed and 154 were injured when two suicide bombers blew themselves up in the Liaquat Bazaar on March 2, 2004.

Judge Najibullah Khan of the ATC-1 Quetta also fined Daud Badani, Shaukat Ali, Habibullah, Haider Khan and Usman Saifullah Rs100,000 each.

During interrogation, the accused had identified the two suicide bombers as Hadayatullah and Abdul Nabi.
