Militants’ hideout raided, eight held

QUETTA, May 11: Security forces continued a search operation in some areas of Dera Bugti district on Sunday and arrested eight suspected militants. They also claimed foiling an attempt to blow up a bridge.

According to sources, security personnel raided militants’ hideouts where they found the suspects.

Fifty other suspects had been recently rounded up from the Lanjoseghrai area near the borders of Sindh and Punjab after a gunbattle in which two militants were killed.

The sources said that security personnel seized two kilogrammes of explosives placed under a bridge linking Sui with Pat Feeder.

Besides, two landmines, found planted in the Janoberi area in Sui tehsil, were defused.
