LAHORE, April 21: Three-year-old colt Lucky Shot, in an outstanding performance, completed a hat trick of victories when he won the third race run over six furlongs during the 27th Lahore Winter Meeting Sunday.

Backed at 30 to 100 and confidently steered to victory by riding boy Qamar Zaman, this son of Yasoob Again out-of- Miss Dilva, Lucky Shot beat chestnut gelding Aao Payar Se by three-and-a-half lengths, who nosed out bay filly Silver Heart to third place.

Dark-bay horse Silver Charm completed the frame, further three-and-a-half lengths away. In all, nine ran for the event in which the winner clocked one minute 14 2/5 seconds over six furlong distance.

The feature event, Ravi Plate, a class IV & V combined event was claimed by four-to-one chance bay mare Perfect Timing defeating fancied bay gelding One Man Show by over eight lengths. Admiral’s Way and Gambling Girl finished calculated third and fourth, respectively. Only six ran for the this sixth and last race of the day.

The Lahore Race Club (LRC) stewards cancelled the fourth race due to lack of runners.

The riding boys A. Aziz and Qamar Zaman shared the day’s riding honours by bringing home a brace of-winners each. Aziz cruised in on Mahnoor and Red Ransom in the first and second race.

Qamar Zaman piloted home Lucky Shot and Better Case in the third and fifth event.
