KARACHI, April 2: The provision of microfinance in Pakistan has grown from 40,000 active borrowers in 1995 to 1.5 million in 2007. While this steady increase is encouraging, Pakistan’s overall penetration rate lags behind that of neighbouring countries and stands at less than 4 per cent.
