Traders decry kidnapping

LARKANA, March 20: Trading at the fruit and vegetable market in Larkana came to a halt when traders protesting over the kidnapping of a fruit commission agent Jawed Qureshi observed a complete shutter down strike on Thursday.

“It is a complete shut down,” said Jan Mohammed Jatoi president of the fruit and vegetable markets association.

Vegetable and fruit trucks were not unloaded in the market which created a shortage of fresh vegetables in the city.

The traders also took out a procession from the market and burnt tyres at the Pakistan Chowk and staged a sit-in at the main gate of Jinnahbagh.

They were demanding recovery of the kidnapped victim.—Correspondent
