HARIPUR: Two shot dead over ‘teasing of girls’

HARIPUR, March 19: Two people were killed by two armed men, reportedly brothers, after an argument that developed over teasing of girls on the Railway Road here on Wednesday afternoon.

Police and eyewitnesses said some girl students were waiting for bus near the Bashar Colony bus stop on the Railway Road when the two brothers started teasing them. Two young men from a nearby locality came for the rescue of the girls and tried to persuade the two persons not to tease them. This infuriated the brothers who allegedly opened fire on the two men, injuring them seriously. The injured, Habibullah Khan Qureshi and Zafar Riaz of Bashar Colony, were taken to the District Headquarter Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
