LAHORE, March 29: Actress Nargis was not examined by the police surgeon on Friday.

She was allegedly beaten up by Abid Boxer, a former police inspector, on Wednesday night. He was also accused of shaving off her eye-brows and cutting her hair with a knife. Nargis had claimed that she had 39 wounds on her body.

When contacted at her house, her father Idrees said, the doctors at the police surgeon had deferred the examination till Saturday.

He said the family was receiving threatening phone calls and urged the government to provide them security.

Abid Boxer was, meanwhile, reported to have been granted interim bail before arrest on Thursday. — Staff Reporter
