HYDERABAD: Auqaf workers go on strike
HYDERABAD, Nov 3: The employees of Sindh Auqaf Department Hyderabad stopped work, locked the office and staged token hunger strike outside the office on Saturday to protest against alleged corrupt practices of their senior officers and to press for the acceptance of other demands.
President, Sindh Auqaf Employees Association Hyderabad, Imtiaz Ali Lashari had demanded an inquiry against the alleged corrupt practices of senior officers and cancellation of illegal appointments.
He further demanded the senior employees to be given promotions and children of retired employees provided employment.
He said officials working on deputation should be repatriated to their parent departments.
SKETCHES: The District Police, Hyderabad on Friday night, issued sketches of three wanted persons involved in an armed dacoity in the cantonment area and offered a reward of Rs50,000 to the person helping police arrest the accused.
It may be pointed out that on Oct 28, the accused had struck at the shop of a money changer in Sakhi Wahab Complex and looted prize bonds and cash of Rs3.9 million.—Bureau
