PHF unveils plan to discover fresh talent

LAHORE, Nov 2: In an attempt to overcome shortage of goalkeepers and penalty-corner specialists, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has decided to pick the best players from the next five domestic tournaments to prepare them for the national duty.

The tournaments will be held during the next two months. They are: Gen. Musa Cup in Quetta (Nov 1-7), All Pakistan Narcotic hockey tournament in Rawalpindi (Nov 18-25), NBP Junior Trophy in Karachi (Nov 28 Dec 5), Col Dara Memorial Cup in Faisalabad (Dec 20-28) and 34th Khushab Hockey Tournament (Dec 28 to Jan 4).

The selected players will undergo training later in January.Nadeem Bhatti has been appointed project director/coordinator.
