PARIS April 15: Renowned French historian and commentator on the political life of France, Rene Remond, died on Saturday of cancer, his family said. He was 88.
The longtime president of the National Foundation of Political Sciences died at Cochin Hospital in Paris, his family said.
Born on Sept 30, 1918, in Lons-le-Saunier, in France's eastern Jura region, Remond contributed to the revival of political history as an area of thought in France.—AP
