KARACHI: Qazi’s release urged

KARACHI, Feb 10: The Jamaat-i-Islami had set up a four-day protest camp at Karachi Press Club against the government’s policies and increasing foreign interference in the internal affairs of the country.

The camp was part of the party’s countrywide campaign for the restoration of constitution, political freedoms and release of the party chief, Qazi Husain Ahmed, Maulana Fazlur Rahman and other detained leaders.

Leaders of different political parties visited the camp and expressed solidarity with the objectives of the camp. They called upon the government to realize the gravity of the situation created by the massing of Indian troops on the borders and the presence of American soldiers on the country’s soil.

“The situation demands unity of the nation which can be possible if political leaders are released,” they said.
