NAWABSHAH: Protest against ‘fake cases’

NAWABSHAH, July 24: Activists of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) staged a rally on Monday to protest against police for registering what they called “fake cases” against party leaders.

The rally started from Housing Society and culminated at the local press club. Carrying placards and raising slogans the protesters staged a sit-in on the press club road and blocked traffic for some time.

Ghulam Qadir Chandio, acting district president of PPP and MPA, said that Sakrand police had booked Ghulam Shah Leghari, general secretary of PPP Sakrand, and his relatives in a fake case on the directives of PML leaders.

A brother of chief minister’s adviser was harassing and threatening Leghari family, he said adding that PPP had always struggled for democracy and would not be cowed by such acts.
