DADU: Two young brothers died during treatment at a government hospital in Sehwan after they, along with their parents, fell seriously ill ostensibly by consuming toxic food at their home in the Manganhar locality of Dadu city on Friday.
According to police and residents of the neighbourhood, some insecticide was sprayed in the home before the family had their meals. Soon afterwards, they said, the couple, Mr Mohammad Ali Qureshi and Mrs Moona Qureshi, and their sons, Umair, 8, and Usman, 5, fell seriously ill.
All the patients were rushed to the hospital where they were provided emergency treatment. While the parents survived, both their sons died during the treatment, they added.
The hospital administration said that the food might have become toxic after anti-bedbug insecticide was sprayed.
Two die in road accidents
A 30-year-old man was killed after his was hit by Shalimar Express train while crossing the tracks near Khursheed Colony in Kotri, police said on Friday. His identity could not be ascertained till late in the evening.
Separately, a man was killed after a passenger van overturned along the M-9 Motorway near Loni Kot on Friday. He was later identified as Mohammad Hanif, son of Abdul Ghafoor Sheikh. Eight other passengers were injured in the accident.
