LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Aalia Neelum on Friday claimed that the case management reforms produced record results as in 2025, all benches of the court decided more than 173,000 cases — the highest in its history.
She was addressing a flag-hoisting ceremony held to mark Independence Day at the LHC.
She hoisted the national flag, accompanied by senior puisne judge Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh, Justice Syed Shehbaz Ali Rizvi, Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh and other judges. She said the Punjab’s district judiciary disposed of over 8 million cases in the past two years.
Justice Neelum stated that model courts established across the province had helped clear pre-2023 civil and criminal cases at the sessions level in 40pc of districts, with the remaining districts expected to follow soon.
Separately, a flag-hoisting ceremony was also held at the office of the Prosecutor General Punjab, with Prosecutor General Irfan Sadiq Tarar as the chief guest.
In his address, Tarar stressed that the delivery of justice and rule of law guaranteed any nation’s progress. He said the prosecutor general’s office would further strengthen its efforts to deliver justice to the public.
