RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) celebrated the Independence Day with flag-hoisting ceremonies. At a ceremony at the PAA headquarters,

Director HR Abid Ali hoisted the national flag. He also read out the message of PAA Director General AVM Zeeshan Saeed.

In his message, Mr Saeed paid tribute to the sacrifices of the nation’s founding leaders and martyrs, and highlighted the importance of unity, dedication and collective responsibility in building a stronger and prosperous Pakistan.

He also appreciated the commitment and professional contributions of PAA employees towards maintaining safe, secure, and efficient airport operations across the country.

After a cake-cutting ceremony, children in their speeches highlighted the importance of freedom and the sacrifices made for the creation of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, PIA has begun celebrations to mark the Independence Day.

”The national airline has taken special and dignified measures for passengers from the ground to the skies,” a PIA spokesman said. PIA counters and offices at all major airports across the country have been decorated with green crescent flags and electric lights.

As part of the celebrations, national flags and badges were distributed among all passengers. Special announcements regarding Independence Day were also made on flights, while the passengers were presented pastries decorated with the Pakistani flag design.
