QUETTA: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has postponed the second phase of local government by-elections for seats in Khuzdar, Kalat and Hub districts of Balochistan due to the prevailing law and order situation, while the scheduled by-polls in Zhob, Loralai and Sibi will be held on Sunday.
All arrangements have been completed for polling, which would take place from 8am to 4pm, according to the ECP.
On Sunday polling would be conducted for six general seats of municipal committees and union councils in Zhob, Loralai and Sibi districts.
A total of 19 candidates are contesting the six seats. The constituencies have 5,546 registered voters, including 2,942 men and 2,604 women.
Eight polling stations have been established for the elections, including two for men, two for women and four combined polling stations.
As part of the security arrangements, six polling stations have been declared sensitive, while two have been classified as normal.
