Woman held for dumping newborn twins

GUJRAT: Police have traced and arrested a woman who had thrown her newborn twin babies at an open place in Madina Syedan village of Gujrat Saddar police precincts on Saturday.

A spokesman for Gujrat police said the police found two born babies at an open area on the city outskirts who were thrown there by their mother.

Both the babies were found alive and being treated at the Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital where doctors declared them out of danger.

The spokesman said a case under Section 328 had been registered against the woman.

CARE SERVICES: The Punjab government has formally launched the “deceased care service” at major hospitals of the government in across the district.

The service will provide free-of-cost shifting of the dead from public sector hospitals to the home of deceased’s heirs.
