Child dies after falling into drain

SARGODHA: An eight-year-old child died after falling into a drain in Bhera tehsil of Sargodha, while four other children were rescued by Rescue 1122.

According to Rescue 1122, five children suddenly fell into a drain near Puli Dinpur Lokri Bhera in Prachu Wali.

Rescue teams were able to recover four children, while the body of one child was recovered early in the morning. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Ali.

MURDER: Armed men shot dead a 28-year-old motorcyclist and fled.

According to the police, armed men opened killed Kamran and fled near Islampur Lohkari in Bhera town. His body was shifted to the THQ Hospital for postmortem and the police were collecting evidence and investigating.

ACCIDENT: A woman died while her husband and son were seriously injured when a speeding bus crushed a motorcycle.

Police said Rehana was killed when a bus crushed a motorcycle near Chowk-i-Azam on MM Road, while her husband Afzal and son Umair Afzal were seriously injured. They were shifted to the hospital in a critical condition and the police were investigating.

ENCROACHMENTS: Municipal Corporation Chief Officer Ahmed Bilal Makhdoom has taken strict notice of encroachments in inner city markets and streets and sealed several shops in Kachhari Bazaar.

During a visit, he sealed shops in the bazaar for encroachments where shutters had been installed outside the building line. He also seized counters and other goods.

He said that no trader would be allowed to encroach outside the building line or sell goods by installing roadside stalls.

He said that action would be taken against such elements according to the law.

He advised the shopkeepers to remove all types of permanent and temporary encroachments on their own, otherwise strict action would be taken against them.
