KHAR, July 11: Militants on Tuesday killed a pro-government tribal elder and a paramilitary soldier in a remote town near the Afghan border, officials said. Gunmen perched on hills opened fire on the house of tribal elder Malik Fateh Khan, killing him and the soldier who was staying there as his guest, local administration official Abdul Qayyum said. He said Khan’s son was wounded in the pre-dawn attack in Bhabra village, 35 kilometres west of Khar, the headquarters of the Bajaur tribal agency.—AFP
