Having affirmed that the apartheid policy, pursued by the South Afri­can regime, is a crime against conscience and human dignity … the [UNSC] called on the Government … to take urgent steps to eliminate apartheid… . [Meanwhile, as reported by news agencies from London,] Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was apparently the last foreign distinguished guest to have been received in Pek­i­­ng by Chairman Mao Tsetung, according to … reports. Last week a number of prominent Wes­­tern [media] quoted a statement by a spo­kesman of the Chinese Foreign Minister … that “the Central Committee of our party has decided not to arrange meetings of Chairman Mao to receive foreign distinguished guests”.
