Boy killed, eight injured in clash over land

SARGODHA: A boy was killed and eight other persons, including women, were injured in a shooting incident over a land dispute at Chak 51-DB, Noorpurthal in Khushab district on Tuesday.

According to police sources, two armed groups clashed and resorted to firing at Chak 51-DB over a land dispute.

As a result, Mustafa (12) was killed and eight others, including women, were seriously injured.

The body and the injured persons were shifted to the local tehsil headquarters (THQ) hospital.

Noorpurthal police are investigating after registering a case.

GANGS BUSTED: Sargodha police claimed to have arrested 33 suspects belonging to 15 crime gangs during an ongoing crackdown and recovered booty worth over Rs7 million from them.

As per the district police sources, a crackdown had been launched on criminal gangs in Sargodha.

The police claim that during the crackdown 15 dangerous gangs were busted and their 33 suspected members were arrested.

The police recovered stolen property worth more than Rs7 million from these gangs.

Further investigation is underway.

FIRE: A fire broke out in a bamboo field near a canal in Sargodha, that was extinguished by Rescue 1122 firefighters, saving bamboo trees worth around Rs2 million from being gutted.

According to official sources, the fire broke out in a bamboo field near Chak 89 and Chak 94 along SB Canal, and it soon spread over an area of four acres.

However, on being informed, Rescue 1122 firefighting teams reached the spot and managed to control the fire in time, saving bamboo trees worth Rs2m from being burnt.
