ISLAMABAD: The Federal Education Minister, Mr Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, today [June 1] directed the setting up of an implementation squad to oversee and inspect progress made in adopting new courses of studies, provision of new text books and teaching kits and aids and actual instructions being imparted in primary, middle and secondary schools throughout the country in accordance with the guidelines provided by the National Bureau of Curriculum and Planning. The squad, the Minister said, was being constituted in keeping with a recent Act of Parliament authorising the Federal Government to supervise standardization of curriculum and text books. The Court was presided over by Mr Justice Aslam Riaz Hussain of the Lahore High Court, while its other members are Mr Justice Abdul Hakim Khan of the Peshawar High Court and Mr Justice Mushtaq Ali Kazi of the Sind-Baluchistan High Court.
