GWADAR: The mother, grandfather and maternal uncle of Shahnaz Baloch, alleged commander of a banned outfit, on Friday announced their disassociation from her, saying they had “nothing to do with her or her activities”.

Her mother, Rukhsana Baloch, while speaking at a press conference in Turbat accompanied by Shahnaz’s grandfather and uncle, said that her husband had died when Shahnaz was just nine months old.

She added that Shahnaz was brought up in the Kalaho area of Tump in Kech district and after her marriage, had shifted to Oman. She further said Shahnaz was the mother of two children. “We heard she [Shahnaz] has joined a banned outfit and is holding the status of commander,” Rukhsana Baloch said.

Shahnaz’s grandfather and uncle expressed serious concern over her association with the banned organisation and said the family had “absolutely no connection” with any of her statements, actions or activities, nor were they ever aware of them.
