SAHIWAL: Four brothers were allegedly kidnapped in two incidents in Harappa and Chichawatni Saddar police precincts.

In the first incident, Muhammad Irshad and his brother, Sadi Abbas, residents of village 101/6-R, were waiting for a bus at Harappa Town when six armed men arrived in two vehicles.

The suspects allegedly assaulted the brothers before forcibly abducting them and fleeing the scene.

The suspects were later identified as Waseem Ghaus, Faisal, Shahzadullah, Hakim Ali, Shahzad Murtaza and Imran. Preliminary police investigations suggest that Waseem suspected Sadi Abbas of having an affair with a woman from his family.

On the complaint of the victims’ widowed mother, Zorain Bibi, Harappa police registered a case under Section 365 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against nine persons. However, the abducted brothers have yet to be recovered.

In the second incident, two brothers, Zain Asif (10), and Husnain Asif were allegedly kidnapped by two unidentified men while playing in the streets of village 109/12-L.

Chichawatni Saddar police registered a case against the unknown suspects on the complaint of the children’s father, Muhammad Asif, who stated that he had no known enmity with anyone.

Police have so far failed to recover the children, who have remained missing for more than 24 hours.

STABBED: A child was fatally stabbed by his neighbour following a minor dispute in Mohallah Islampura, Kameer Town, on May 23.

Reports said Noor Ahmed’s neighbour, Yousaf Jajee, who was allegedly known for picking quarrels over petty issues, became involved in a heated argument with Noor Ahmed on Sunday afternoon. The verbal exchange turned into a physical scuffle.

Hearing the noise, Noor Ahmed’s two youngest sons, Abdullah and Muddasar, came out of their house. Witnesses said during the confrontation, Yousaf Jajee allegedly attacked Abdullah with a dagger, stabbing him multiple times in the abdomen.

The injured child was rushed to Sahiwal Teaching Hospital in a critical condition but he succumbed to his injuries.

Kameer Police registered a case under Sections 302 and 324 of the PPC on the complaint of the victim’s father, Noor Ahmed.

Police said suspect Yousaf Jajee was arrested.
