No unfixed bail cases at principal seat, says SC

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday announced that at present there were no unfixed cases relating to bail before arrest or post-arrest bail at the principal seat of the Supreme Court, Islamabad.

It said that during the last two weeks, 226 cases relating to bail before arrest and post-arrest bail were fixed for hearing before the Supreme Court.

The court further announced that 109 bail matters were fixed before the bench headed by Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan from May 11, 2025, reflecting the court’s continued emphasis on fast disposal of liberty-related cases.

It said the Supreme Court remains committed to ensuring accessible, efficient and timely justice, particularly in matters directly affecting citizens’ liberty.

It said the SC remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting fundamental rights and personal liberty, which constitute the cornerstone of the justice system.

These matters are being fixed and heard strictly in accordance with the fixation policy issued by the Supreme Court with a view to ensuring timely adjudication and safeguarding the constitutional rights of litigants.
