KARACHI: A former central leader of the once-unified Muttahida Qaumi Movement has announced joining the Altaf Hussain-led MQM, commonly known as MQM-London.
US-based Wasay Jalil, who parted ways with Mr Hussain around nine years ago, announced his decision at a press conference in Houston.
He appealed to all former office-bearers and workers of the MQM to return to the party fold.
Mr Jalil, a former Gulshan Town nazim, also appealed to the army chief, Field Martial Asim Munir, to play his role in lifting the ban on Mr Hussain’s speech.
Mr Jalil remained associated with Mr Hussain even after his incendiary speech on August 22, 2016, in London, but later parted ways and moved to the US.
