DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Four members of the local peace committee were killed, and another was abducted after terrorists ambushed them near Attal Sharif area in the Kulachi tehsil here on Sunday, security sources said.
They said unidentified armed assailants allegedly linked to the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan-Gandapur group opened fire on members of the peace committee in the limits of Hathala police station near Kot Attal Sharif, a troubled area of Kulachi tehsil.
Four peace committee members, including Shahzeb and Danish, and two others whose names could not be known, were killed on the spot.
The sources said the attackers abducted one member of the peace committee and took away their weapons while fleeing the area.
Officials said that an investigation into the incident had been launched.
