The Lebanese army has put out a statement regarding upcoming peace negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, according to Al Jazeera.

It says that officers assigned to the mission “represent the nation and they are carrying out the decisions of the military establishment”.

The military delegation, which will participate in the negotiations at the Pentagon, is committed to national principles and the army’s doctrine, the statement adds.

“What is being circulated regarding the sectarian distribution of the delegation has no relation to the principles of the military institution,” it reads.
