DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Scholarship cheques worth Rs5.58 million were distributed among outstanding students under the “Stori Da Pakhtunkhwa Scholarship Programme”.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Dera Ismail Khan had organised a ceremony for the distribution of the cheques.

BISE Dera Ismail Khan chairman Prof Ehsanullah, Board Secretary Dr Qayyum Nawaz, Controller of Examinations Dr Qaiser Anwar, students, parents and principals of educational institutions attended the ceremony.

Around 33 students of the Secondary School Certificate examinations 2023 session received second installment of the scholarship cheques worth Rs120,000 each, while nine students of the Higher Secondary School Certificate examinations were awarded cheques worth Rs180,000 each.

Addressing the event as chief guest, Dera Ismail Khan Commissioner Daud Khan said nations that excelled in education were the ones that achieved sustainable development and progress.

He termed the scholarship initiative of the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa an important and transformative programme aimed at encouraging talented students and promoting merit in the education sector.

“The younger generation is the future leadership of the country and they will carry the responsibility of steering the nation forward,” he said, adding that educational boards had an important role in ensuring transparency in examinations and encouraging capable students.
