UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres’ spokesman has been asked whether the global body believes a ceasefire is in place in Lebanon amid deadly Israeli attacks and return fire from Hezbollah, according to Al Jazeera.

“There was a cessation of hostilities agreement,” Stephane Dujarric has replied during a briefing at UN headquarters in New York City.

“I think how it’s being respected or disrespected is a matter of fact. It’s a situation of a lesser fire. We will continue to call for the agreement to actually be respected, and not be ignored.”
