Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that his country will “carry out [its] historical duty as protector of security” in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a post on X, Araghchi says he discussed this with his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, adding that Iran is a “reliable partner of all friendly nations, who can rely on safety of commerce”.
