Pashto song celebrates 75 years of Pak-China friendship
PESHAWAR: The Chinese cultural centre in Peshawar, China Window, has produced a Pashto song to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic friendship between Pakistan and Peoples Republic of China.
The song has been written by Prof Abaseen Yousafzai. Journalist and administrator of China Window Amjad Aziz Malik has directed the project. Music for the song has been composed by Gohar Jan while singers Dr Irfan Khalil and Yamsha Noor have rendered the song.
The video was filmed at historic Gandhara site of Takht-i-Bahi and a 142-year-old traditional house in Peshawar, symbolising the longstanding cultural and diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China.
The lyrics portray a poetic exchange between a Pakistani youth and a Chinese girl, reflecting friendship, affection and cultural harmony between the two nations. The song will be officially launched on May 20 in Islamabad in the presence of prominent figures from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad and Chinese embassy.
