Man kills wife over bid to end marriage

OKARA: A man allegedly shot and killed his wife after she filed a suit in the court for dissolution of their marriage.

As per the FIR, Bilqees Bibi had been married to Karam Hussain for the past 17 years but the couple often quaralled and her husband allegedly used to beat her.

It said that she ultimately returned to her parents house in Kot Abdul Ghani in the suburb of Jeth Pur and later filed a dissolution of marriage suit in the Dipalpur family court.

It claimed that after she filed the case, Karam Hussain along with his accomplice Shafqat on Wednesday night scaled the boundary wall of complainant Muhammad Akram’s house and shot Bilqees.

It further claimed that when the villagers started gathering at the spot, both suspects fled while threatening to kill anyone who tried to stop them.

Bilqees succumbed to her bullet injuries while being shifted to the Dipalpur THQ Hospital.

On the complaint of the victim’s father, the Dhuliyana Police registered a case against the suspects.
