Swabi to have optical fibre network
SWABI: Federal Ministry of Information Technology and the Universal Service Fund (USF) would soon start work on the Next Generation Optical Fibre Network project in Swabi district, sources told Dawn on Tuesday.
This project is being described as an important and historic step towards providing modern digital infrastructure, high-speed internet and promoting a modern communication system in Swabi, said the sources.
They said that under the project, urban and rural areas will be connected to a modern optic fibre network, which will significantly improve the quality of internet service in the area.
The sources said the project would connect even the remote areas of the district with high-speed internet to benefit students, the business community and people from different walks of life.
Through this project, all the major union councils, towns and villages will be connected to the optic fibre network, which will open new avenues in education, business, online employment, e-governance and information technology, the sources said.
