Profiling of NCP vehicles resumes in Dir

LOWER DIR: The excise and taxation department has resumed the profiling process for non-custom paid (NCP) vehicles in the district, asking the vehicle owners to complete the exercise before the May 18 deadline.

Officials said that profiling centres had been established at various locations across the district, including Timergara, Chakdara, Munda and Lal Qila, while additional points had also been set up at police stations and excise checkpoints to facilitate vehicle owners.

They added that only those NCP vehicles would be allowed to ply on roads after next week, whose profiling had been completed and which carried the official profiling board issued by the excise department.

An official said the district had the highest number of NCP vehicles in the region, adding that thousands of such vehicles were profiled during the previous drive launched in 2025.

He said vehicle owners were required to provide copies of their CNIC, an affidavit, relevant vehicle documents and the vehicle itself during the profiling process.

The administration warned that no concession would be given to owners failing to complete profiling by May 18. Officials added that after the deadline, ‘unregistered’ vehicles would be stopped at checkposts and taken for profiling and further legal procedure.
