Man stabbed as criminals strike seven times in capital
ISLAMABAD: Robbers stabbed and injured a man during a robbery, while criminals looted cash and valuables, including vehicles worth over Rs5 million, in seven separate incidents across the capital, police said.
In the first incident, robbers stabbed and injured a man in the area of Jhangi Syedan.
The injured was identified as Tasawar Hussain, who works as a rider.
Two persons booked a ride to Dhoke Basho from a bus terminal for a fare of Rs300. When they reached Dhoke Basho, two more persons were waiting for them there. All four men overpowered him, pulled out daggers and started beating him severely. One of the robbers stabbed him repeatedly, leaving him injured. The robbers later looted cash and a motorcycle worth Rs101,500 from him and escaped.
In another incident, robbers looted a vehicle at gunpoint in the Kirpa area. The victim, Mushtaq Ahmed, works as a driver for an online cab service.
Three persons booked a ride to Gulberg Green and, upon reaching the destination, pulled out weapons and asked him to stop. The gunmen held him at gunpoint, dragged him out of the driver’s seat and forced him into the back seat.
They later drove him to a wooded area where they tied him with ropes before fleeing with the car worth Rs3 million.
Similarly, a gang of robbers looted cash and a motorcycle from a couple in C-14. The incident occurred when Zahoor Ahmed and his wife were travelling from C-15 towards D-12 on a motorcycle.
Two armed men intercepted the couple in C-14 and held them at gunpoint.
The robbers looted Rs11,500 in cash, a Honda 125 motorcycle, a 9mm pistol and ATM cards before escaping.
In another incident, robbers snatched a motorcycle and mobile phone from a man on Ninth Avenue. Two men riding a motorcycle intercepted Dawood Ahmed while he was returning home.
The robbers held him at gunpoint and escaped with his motorcycle worth Rs240,000 and a Samsung A24 mobile phone worth Rs40,000.
Meanwhile, burglars stole cash and gold worth Rs1.18 million from a house in Model Town. The burglars broke into the house of Sajid Mehmood while the family was away and stole Rs80,000 in cash and gold ornaments weighing 2.5 tolas.
In G-13/2, thieves stole Rs1 million in cash from the house of Mohammad Shabir during the absence of the residents.
In another incident, thieves stole a motorcycle and household items worth Rs250,000 from a house in Kirpa.
The theft occurred at the house of Abdul Rauf after the family had left for their village to attend a funeral.
Police have registered separate cases and started investigations into the incidents.
