Doctors action committee rejects election

QUETTA: Leaders of the newly established Young Doctors Action Committee (YDAC) on Sunday denounced the decisions and legitimacy of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) cabinet, branding it as “unconstitutional”.

Addressing a press conference, Dr Tahir Musakhel and Dr Abrar Kakar announced the creation of an action committee. Their group, they claimed, aimed to resolve the ongoing organisational crisis and rally doctors to ensure fair and formal elections for YDA’s Balochistan chapter.

The YDAC leaders voiced significant concerns about the YDA’s current state of affairs, arguing that it has been “held hostage” by a consultative body, known as the Supreme Council. They alleged the council has been appointing “favourite individuals” to key positions, describing such actions as an affront to genuine doctors and representatives.

The group stressed their commitment to a three-year-long democratic struggle to restore the organisation’s integrity.
