Schoolgirl dies in Attock road tragedy

ATTOCK: A student of early childhood education (ECD) at Government Girls Primary School Dhoke Pehla, lost her life in a devastating road accident on Pindi Kohat Road.

Clamity struck when a speeding car hit Umme Kulsoom while she was walking to school alongside her mother. She was rushed to THQ Hospital Fatehjang in critical condition, but despite desperate efforts by doctors, the young girl could not survive her injuries.

The tragedy cast a pall of sorrow over the area. Teachers described Umme Kulsoom as an exceptionally bright, hardworking and polite student who loved learning.

Teachers remembered her as a child full of curiosity and promise, always eager to participate and learn.

“She was among those children whose smile brightened the classroom,” one teacher said with tearful eyes.

The tragedy has once again raised serious concerns regarding road safety around schools and the protection of children during school hours. Education authorities directed the school staff to further strengthen all possible safety and monitoring measures, especially during arrival and dismissal times.

They stressed maintaining close coordination with parents and ensuring that children’s safety remains the highest priority to prevent such incidents.
