Man, girl shot dead for ‘honour’ in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: A young man and a 14-year-old girl were shot dead for ‘honour’ in the Mian Kali area in the jurisdiction of the Prang police station, officials said on Saturday.

They said that the father of one of the deceased, Mohammad Saad, lodged an FIR, stating that he was going to offer evening prayers, along with his son, when two brothers allegedly opened fire on them.

As a result, the complainant said his son died on the spot, while he remained unharmed.

In a counter FIR, the mother of the deceased girl told the police that she was at home, along with her daughter and other family members, when a man and his son allegedly entered the house armed with firearms and opened fire. The firing resulted in the instant death of her 14-year-old daughter.

The police said both parties had accused each other of murder in their respective FIRs.

According to the reports, the alleged motive behind the incidents was the alleged illicit relationship between the two deceased persons.
