Young doctors hold protest at Pims

ISLAMABAD: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) on Saturday held a protest against longstanding issues faced by postgraduate residents (PGRs) and doctors.

The primary concern raised during the protest was the management’s failure to increase the salaries of PGRs for the last seven years despite continuous inflation and the rising cost of living. YDA representatives stated that it was their third request submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office within the last five years that had been ignored.

The association also expressed serious concern over the growing shortage of doctors at Pims despite the steady increase in the number of patients visiting the hospital.
