Panel okays Rs650m for various law, order tasks
LAHORE: The Cabinet Committee on Law and Order on Saturday reviewed all necessary arrangements ahead of Eidul Azha and Muharram and approved Rs650 million for expenses related to cricket matches, by-elections, Urs, and other matters.
It also approved the appointment of price control magistrates in various districts of Punjab.
The cabinet committee’s 52nd meeting chaired by Khwaja Salman Rafique and attended by different provincial ministers, was briefed on the latest law and order situation and government efforts.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rafique said the district intelligence committee meetings should be held in all districts regarding Eidul Azha.
He said use of hate speech and illegal use of loudspeakers would not be allowed.
He said there was a complete ban on proscribed organisations collecting hides of sacrificial animals in the province.
He said instructions had been issued to promptly process applications from registered organisations for collecting sacrificial hides.
Provincial ministers Bilal Yasin, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, Bilal Akbar Khan, and Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani along with officials participated in the meeting.
