Regularisation of 14,000 ad hoc teachers approved

PESHAWAR: A ministerial committee meeting regarding the regularisation of ad hoc teachers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Arshad Ayub Khan.

During the meeting, the committee agreed in principle to regularise approximately 14,000 ad hoc teachers across the province. Formal approval for this decision will be sought from the provincial cabinet.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Law Aftab Alam, Finance Adviser Muzammil Aslam, Secretary Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Khalid, Additional Secretary Fauzia, Director Elementary and Secondary Education Laghmana Sardar, along with other relevant officials.

The meeting approved the regularisation on a permanent basis of teachers recruited in 2022 who had previously been left out of the regularisation process.

On this occasion, the adviser on finance directed the teachers to immediately open their CP Fund accounts after receiving their regularization notifications so that they could benefit from the government’s 12 per cent contribution.

The ministerial committee was informed that the regularisation process had been delayed due to various reasons.

However, Education Minister Arshad Ayub Khan congratulated the teachers on the proposed regularisation and stated that the present government had taken this positive step for the welfare of these teachers, as it was their rightful entitlement.

He further stated that final approval for the teachers regularisation would be obtained from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial cabinet.
