PPP activist laid to rest
OKARA: Veteran political activist, affiliated with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Advocate Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf Sangoka, died at the age of 76 after a protracted ailment.
He was laid to rest in village 5/4L in the city’s suburb on Tuesday and his funeral prayers were offered at the village government elementary school with thousands of attendees from all segments of society.
He was detained twice under The Maintenance of Public Safety Order for a year at the Sahiwal and Bahawalpur jails during the Zia martial law.
