Missing boy reunited with family after 15 years

LAHORE: The Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s (PSCA) Virtual Centre for Child Safety has reunited a differently-abled child with his parents, 15 years after he had gone missing.

According to a PSCA spokesperson, a differently-abled child, Ramzan, had gone missing from Gujranwala in March 2010.

As the child suffered from hearing and speech impairment, it made his tracing and identification process extremely challenging.

Recently, Ramzan was found in Lahore and was shifted to an Edhi Centre.

The spokesperson said a team of Mera Pyara initiative launched by the PSCA recorded a video interview of the child and shared it on social media, along with his old photograph from 2010.

During the digital campaign, a relative of the child recognised him through the video and informed his family, which confirmed that he was Ramzan, son of Muhammad Iqbal, who had been missing since 2010.

The team completed the verification process and safely reunited Ramzan with his family.

On being reunited with Ramzan after 15 years, his family members became overwhelmed with emotions.
