Yemen’s coastguard reports unidentified armed men hijacked the M/T ⁠Eureka oil tanker‌ off the coast of Shabwa province, Al Jazeera reports.

It adds that assailants boarded the vessel and ⁠seized control of it, before steering it towards ⁠the ⁠Gulf of Aden in the direction of ‌Somali waters.

Earlier, the UK Maritime Trade Operations Centre said a “bulk carrier” reported a suspicious approach by a “green-hulled skiff” accompanied by a fishing vessel, 155 kilometres southwest of the port of Mukalla.
