East-DIG Dr Farrukh Ali said that the suspect was allegedly involved in online sale of the pills to students. The pills are basically consumed during dance parties, he added.

According to the DIG, a police party conducted a raid, on a tip-off, at a specified place in Shah Latif Town and arrested Ahmed Ali alias Zeeshan. During interrogation, he confessed that he had been selling ecstasy pills to students of various educational institutions online, said Malir SSP Dr Abdul Khaliq Pirzada.

The SSP said that 750 ecstasy pills, 200 grams of ‘ice’ (crystal methamphetamine) and 250 grams of ‘vaid’ were also seized from the suspect.

The police quoted the suspect as telling the police that he used to bring in the narcotics in the garb of computer parts from Balochistan for online sale to youths, mainly students of colleges and universities.
